Construction work to cause lane closures this weekend and in February

This weekend, Saturday, Jan. 28, and Sunday, Jan. 29, the westernmost lane of Capitol Way will remain closed between Union Avenue and 11th Avenue – the block parallel to the 1063 Block Replacement Project – so asphalt that is being placed today has a chance to cure.
Starting Monday, Jan. 30, the city of Olympia, working with the Department of Enterprise Services, will lift the current 24-hour closure of the block. The westernmost lane on Capitol Way, however, will be closed between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. on an as-needed basis throughout the month of February so crews can complete sidewalk, landscaping and other related work on the new state office building.

During the lane closures, flaggers will be in place and traffic delays are expected to be minimal.
