East campus tree removal scheduled for Nov. 22 - 11/10/2016

A private tree care company hired by Enterprise Services will remove three failing ash trees growing near the Lawrence Halprin water garden feature on the east Capitol Campus on Tuesday, Nov. 22. The trees are being removed because they pose a safety risk.

The company - Arbor Care Tree Specialists – will grind the ash tree stumps and also remove dead wood from three nearby red oak trees.

The work, which will be noisy at times, will begin around 7 a.m. and continue until dusk.

Three, smaller-growing, more site-appropriate shrubs or small trees will be planted by the water garden feature at a later date. The species of the new trees or shrubs has not been decided yet.
