Leadership Development

Situational Leadership (3 Days)

This course provides an overview of different supervision styles and how you can appropriately apply them to each employee. Approximately fifty-five percent (55%) of employees in the typical organization have become ‘disengaged’. The primary reason for this ‘disengagement’ and the main reason employees leave organizations is because of dissatisfaction with their supervisor. The disengagement rate has doubled in the last five years! The cause of the dissatisfaction is inappropriate supervision, i.e., failure on the part of the supervisor to understand leadership principles and practices, resulting in over or under-supervision.

Performance Objectives: Upon completion of this course you should be able to:

      • Recognize the behaviors associated with the four development levels of employees
      • Diagnose employee development
      • Identify their own primary supervisory style
      • Apply appropriate supervision strategies commensurate with an employee’s development level
      • Identify the symptoms of over or under-supervision
      • Develop supervisory ‘partnerships’ with their employees

Competencies covered in this course: Leadership, communication, strategic thinking.
