Do you need to create a multi-page newsletter, magazine, annual report or other multi-page document? Do you know how to use photos and artwork to make your piece interesting and beautiful? Do you know how to integrate your workflow using InDesign, Photoshop and Acrobat? If any of these apply to you, then this class is for you. It is an elective in the graphic design series, which uses Adobe Creative Suite, to give you a great foundation for designing for web and print.
This 1.5-day course will include the basic elements, vocabulary and practical use of InDesign for creating a newsletter, magazine (or annual report) for both print and the web. Besides learning the basic tenets, you will also get a brief introduction to integrating Photoshop and Acrobat in the design process.
Course Objectives: Upon successful completion of this course, you should be able to:
- Examine how a newsletter, magazine, or similar document (either print or on-line) can help with your marketing and education efforts.
- Use the basic tools needed to create a multi-page document.
- Edit a photo for print.
- You will learn how to prepare the document for the web using both InDesign and Acrobat.
- Complete a multi-page document (newsletter, magazine or annual report or similar) in class.

Intended Audience: Professionals who need to use Adobe Creative Suite or design general communications for print or web
Recommended Pre-requisite: Completion of the core courses in the graphic design program is highly recommended. You will need to bring a minimum of four pages of content and 6 photos on a thumb drive so you can create an actual document.
Please note: this class is an intermediate InDesign class and uses a mix of discussion, demonstration and hands-on work. Students are expected to participate fully and share their experience, if relevant to the discussion.
