This class teaches you effective problem solving and decision making skills. You will be guided through the process of identifying root causes of problems, generating solutions to problems, establishing decision-making criteria, and using those criteria to select the best alternative solution to problems. You will learn to evaluate the benefits and risks of individual versus group decision-making approaches. This course is designed for leaders and managers who want to think in new ways about problems, issues, or challenges in order to break through common perceived barriers.

    Performance Objectives: Upon completion of this course you should be able to:

    • Build and expand your decision-making, critical thinking and creative problem skills.
    • Apply logical and creative approaches to solving problems and making decisions.
    • Assess personal roadblocks to seeing new approaches to solving problems or dealing with issues.
    • Identify key stakeholders and their roles in making high-quality decisions.
    • Work with others to make a group decision.
