Visual Studio for Software Developers (2 Days)

Visual Studio is the integrated development environment (IDE) for .Net programming as well as other types of development. This course provides exactly what you need to get started, whether you're coming from older versions of Visual Studio or another IDE. In this class, we will explore how to use this tool from the ground up including how to set up your environment and save it to creating your own templates for projects.

This is a two day class and supports modern versions of Visual Studio.

    Performance Objectives: Upon completion of this course you should be able to:

    • Use solutions and projects to organize your work
    • Customize the IDE and settings to your requirements
    • Import and export your settings
    • Use Class View and other specialized windows
    • Use help more effectively
    • Set up intelligence for other libraries than stock

    • Create useful documentation with XML Comments
    • Create your own templates so you can make reusable projects
    • Create add-ins to add new functionality to Visual Studio
    • Explore the new Community Edition of Visual Studio
