Illustrator for Creative Graphic Design (2 Days)

01-04-D717
Create stunning vector art to help tell your story. This course focuses on Illustrator CS6, the Adobe Creative Suite program used to create and edit “drawn” graphics, while enabling its users to integrate content from other creative environments (such as photos from Photoshop). Illustrator's many tools and features participants will unlock the creative impulses of the artist and the would-be artist alike. A sound understanding of Illustrator will enhance the creative process and encourage the ideas and “what ifs” along the way.

On day one participants will explore the detailed Illustrator interface, create simple artwork using the basic drawing and painting tools available in Illustrator. The class also covers working with live text and text paths that may become integral parts of graphics and other designs. Day two topics include creating more complex artwork using advanced tools, options, and effects. In this course, students will draw complex illustrations, enhance them using painting options, transparency and blend modes. Additionally participants will learn to manage colors, format type, work with effects, prepare artwork for commercial printing, and prepare graphics for the web.
