Investigator Training Advanced (1 Day)

IMPORTANT PREREQUISITE: Only those employees that have previously completed an 'Investigator Training Core' program or have successfully completed a 'Petition for Credit for Previous Investigator Training' for the Core Curriculum may attend this class.
    This course is designed to provide advanced, yet generic investigation concepts, skills, and techniques by focusing on complex investigative planning and strategy, advanced interviewing methods, and investigator testimony. Other topics include the preparation of subpoenas and/or summons and respecting constitutional rights.

      NOTE: This training may also include a brief review of topics covered in the Investigator Training Core course, such as statutory scope of authority, ethics, civil warrants, tort and personal liability for errors, gathering, documenting, and managing evidence, referrals, public disclosure and other relevant topics as determined by the class make-up.

        Objectives: Upon completion of this course you will have received training in the following areas:

        • Complex investigative planning & strategy.
        • Subpoena/summons authority.
        • Advanced interviewing techniques.
        • Respecting constitutional rights.
        • Investigator testimony.


        Competencies covered in this course: Interviewing, researching and gathering information

          Intended Audience: State employees whose primary job duties involve frequent conduct of civil administrative investigations.
