It’s getting easier to find what you need on DES.wa.gov
The menu changes, based on customer interviews and user testing, helped us identify challenges and prioritize these improvements:
Clearer naming
We’ve updated some menu items to help you get started faster:
- “Sell to the State” is now titled “Do Business with the State” to cover a wider range of options for vendors and contractors.
- Under "Do Business with the State," we've added Public Works Bidding.
Streamlined agency services
We've refined the "Services" menu to better highlight theservices we offer to stateand local agencies, and Tribal Nations:
- Under "Services," we've added four sections: Public Works, Real Estate, Energy Efficiency, and Facility Support.
- Buy Surplus, which used to be found under "Services," has moved to the "Purchase" menu.
If you’re not sure where something moved, return to the dropdown menus at the top of the page. You can alsoemail our web services teamfor help on where to look.
This work is part of a multiyear project to enhance our digital presence. A redesigned DES.wa.gov launched in 2022, followed by new websites for Capitol Campus visitors (Capitol.wa.gov) and Washington State Employee Assistance Program customers (EAP.wa.gov).
Expect more improvements throughout the year as we continue to streamline and refresh our site.
