Campus tree work scheduled for Oct. 19-21

A tree care company will be on the Capitol Campus Oct. 19-21 to prune hazardous limbs and do other related work.

On Oct. 19, Arbor Care Tree Service will prune two red oaks growing by the northwest corner of the Legislative Building and begin tree stump grinding at Marathon and Heritage parks and at the Old Capitol Building in downtown Olympia.

The next day the company will prune a bigleaf maple tree by the Vietnam Veterans Memorial and a Norway maple by the World War II Memorial.

On Oct. 21, Arbor Care will prune a cork elm tree near the press houses, which are next to the Newhouse Building on the west Capitol Campus, and replace straps used to help support limbs on two Norway maples on the west campus.

The work will begin around 8 a.m. each day and end at about 5 p.m.

There should not be any disruption to parking or vehicular traffic. ArborCare will manage control of pedestrian traffic.

There will be noise from chain saws, a stump grinder and a chipper.
