Reminder: Short-term closures to interpretive trails near Deschutes Parkway will occur during work to clear vegetation

One week of work to clear overgrown vegetation will be conducted by the Washington State Department of Transportation along the pedestrian trails east of the Interpretive Center and the west side of Deschutes Parkway between Lakeridge Drive and the Interstate 5 overpass will begin Oct. 23.

The project will clear overgrown vegetation along interpretive trails to increase pedestrian comfort, visibility and safety.

Portions of the interpretive trails will be closed to ensure safety during the project. Barricades and signs will be posted.

Deschutes Parkway will not be closed, but there will be traffic impacts. Flaggers will be on site to help direct traffic around tractors and mowers to ensure safety.
