Capitol Lake/Lower Deschutes Watershed workgroup to review draft report on long-term management at Oct. 28 meeting

The Capitol Lake/Lower Deschutes Watershed executive workgroup will hold its next regular monthly meeting from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 28 at the 1500 Jefferson Street building in Olympia.

June 29 event could bring thousands to Capitol Campus

The Department of Enterprise Services has issued a permit for a Wednesday, June 29 event that organizers say could bring up to 5,000 attendees to the Capitol Campus.

Franklin Graham, son of evangelist Billy Graham, will bring his "Decision America Tour" to the area near the Tivoli Fountain for a noon to 1 p.m. rally. Set-up for the event will begin around 11 a.m.

Construction work to close campus road April 19-20

A short section of 11th Avenue – from Capitol Way to Water Street – on the west Capitol Campus will be closed from about 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 19 for a major concrete pour at the 1063 Block Replacement Project construction site.

The work is weather dependent: The concrete cannot be poured if it is raining heavily.

The goal is to complete the work on April 19, with April 20 serving as backup day in case of bad weather.

Campus road closure now scheduled for April 25

The concrete pour scheduled at the 1063 Block Replacement Project construction site scheduled for Tuesday, April 19 was postponed, and will now be done on Monday, April 25.

The work requires the closure of 11th Avenue in both directions from Capitol Way S. to Water Street SW, in front of the GA Building, from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Part of 11th Avenue by GA Building to close April 28, May 5-6

A short section of 11th Avenue from Capitol Way to Water Street SW, in front of the GA Building, will be closed in both directions from 6 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 28.

That same section of roadway will again close in both directions on May 5 but the hours will be from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Both closures are needed for concrete pours at the 1063 Block Replacement Project.

Next concrete pour to close section of 11th Avenue on May 24

A short section of 11th Avenue from Capitol Way to Water Street S.W., in front of the GA Building, will be closed in both directions from 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 24, for a concrete pour at the 1063 Block Replacement Project construction site.

Next concrete pour to close section of 11th Avenue on May 27

A short section of 11th Avenue from Capitol Way to Water Street S.W., in front of the GA Building, will be closed in both directions from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Friday, May 27, for a concrete pour at the 1063 Block Replacement Project construction site.

Concrete work at new building construction site to close 11th Avenue on June 3, 7

A short section of 11th Avenue from Capitol Way to Water Street SW, in front of the GA Building, will be closed in both directions from about 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Friday, June 3 and Tuesday, June 7 for concrete pours at the 1063 Block Replacement Project construction site.

Concrete pour, road closure now scheduled for June 10

The closure of 11th Avenue from Capitol Way to in front of the GA Building that had been scheduled to take place on June 7 will now happen on Friday, June 10.

The rescheduled road closure will begin at 6 a.m. and last until about 4 p.m.

The road closure is needed for the pouring of concrete at the 1063 Block Replacement Project construction site.

Concrete pour at campus construction site to close 11th Avenue on June 24

Progress continues, on schedule, at the construction site for the new state office building being built on the block bordered by Capitol Way, 11th Avenue, Union Avenue and Columbia Street.

An example of that progress will be evident on Friday, June 24 when a section of 11th Avenue next to the construction site will be closed for a concrete pour that forms a portion of the third floor of the five-story building.
