UPDATED: Noisy sidewalk removal near Capitol Building scheduled for June 14-16

The Department of Enterprise Services will remove a section of sidewalk near the southeast entrance to the Legislative Building, at the northwest corner of the intersection at Sid Snyder Avenue and Cherry Lane, on June 14-16 to make repairs to underground electrical conduit.

The work will involve the use of a jackhammer, cutting saw and small excavator.

The work will block the ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) curb ramp for part of the day on June 15. Pedestrians will be routed to the southern ramp on this corner of the street.

The entrance to the Legislative Building will not be affected and no traffic impacts are expected.

Once the electrical repairs are completed the excavated sidewalk area will be covered and secured. The ADA ramp will be fully functional.

New concrete will be poured in the coming weeks and the sidewalk fully restored. The concrete pour will be done this summer as part of a larger project to restore and repair several Capitol Campus sidewalks.
