Entities Within Washington
Entities within Washington state must sign a Contract Usage Agreement (CUA) to get access to all of our contracts.
- Washington state agencies
- Local Washington governmental entities (city, county, public utility district, school district, etc.)
- Higher education institution located within Washington state
- Federal government field office located within Washington state
- Tribal government located in Washington state
- Public benefit nonprofit located in Washington state
Government entities
Follow these steps:
- Check our list of entities with current contract usage agreements. If your entity isn't listed, proceed to step 2.
If your entity is on the list, you may purchase using our current contracts. - Complete the contract usage agreement request form. View a contract usage agreement form example.
- You will receive an email from us after submitting the request form asking you to review and sign the contract usage agreement.
- We will email you a copy of the completed agreement.
- Search our contracts to find goods and services. You can also search contracts with small, diverse, or veteran-owned businesses.
- Identify the contract you will purchase from.
- Read the "how to use this contract" section on the contract summary page and follow the instructions listed.
Public benefit nonprofits
Follow these steps:
- Apply with the Washington Secretary of State for status as a public benefit nonprofit (PBNP) corporation. If you've already done this, you can go to step 2.
- Designated PBNPs are listed in the Secretary of State's Corporations and Charities Filing System.
- PBNPs must annually renew their status with the Secretary of State.
- Find information and forms for nonprofits on the Secretary of State's website.
- Complete the contract usage agreement request form. View a PNBP contract usage agreement form example.
- Email the following documents to DES at cua@des.wa.gov:
- IRS confirmation of 501(c)(3) status.
- A copy of your filing with the Secretary of State Corporations and Charities System. Use the "Corporation Search" field to find your entity.
- Statement of funding source(s): Show the local, state, or federal agency that provides you funds, the term dates, and dollar amounts. More details are available on page 2 of the contract usage agreement.
- After you have submitted a contract usage agreement request form:
- We will review your contract usage agreement and supporting documentation to confirm your eligibility. We will contact you if we need more information.
- After we finish our review, we will email you a copy of the completed agreement and your organization will appear in the appropriate list of entities with signed contracts usage agreements. At that time, you will be able to start using statewide contracts.
- Your contract usage agreement will remain in place for five years if you continue to meet the criteria for being a PBNP.
- Search our contracts to find goods and services. You can also search contracts with small, diverse, or veteran-owned businesses.
- Identify the contract you will purchase from.
- Read the "how to use this contract" section on the contract summary page and follow the instructions listed.
