Integrated Pest Management Services
Green purchasing guidance for integrated pest management services includes prevention, monitoring, assessing pest population density, treatment, and evaluation of the effectiveness of treatments.
Required specifications
The following have been identified as green specifications relevant to the good/services as minimum mandatory requirements. These would not be part of a scored exhibit. If you are using the Washington state procurement manual templates, the following should be inserted in the relevant document that describes the product or performance requirements.
- Contractor shall, where cost-effective and workable solutions are available that will reduce or eliminate emissions of greenhouse gases, select the lower-emissions options in performance of this Contract.
- USDA Certified BioBased.
- The fertilizer or pesticide is certified by the Organic Materials Research Institute (OMRI).
- Equipment used in service that are certified EnergyStar, EPEAT Bronze level or higher, e-Stewards, or Sustainable Electronics Reuse and Recycling (R2) Standard.
- Products used in service that are certified Safer Choice, Green Screen, Cradle to Cradle, Green Seal, ECOLOGO, or Design for the Environment.
- Products used in service do not contain HFCs, mercury, PCBs
- Products do not include:
- Toxics in products/services
- Tier 1 pesticides
- "Weed & feed" fertilizer/herbicide mixtures
Preferred specifications
The following have been identified as green specifications relevant to the goods/services as preferred specifications to be scored. These would be part of your evaluation. If you are using the Washington state procurement manual templates, the following should be inserted in the relevant document that is used for evaluation.
- Mechanical pest management product, such as a bait or trap.
