Since 2014, Enterprise Services and state agency partners worked diligently to build a telematics pilot project that could meet the following goals:
During this work on telematics, customers identified vital concerns regarding protection of location data and data management. As a result, agency partners defined specific procurement requirements to ensure that any proposed telematics solution addressed these concerns.
After extensive procurement work, we have learned that no current telematics solution meets the core business and data requirements of our agency customers.
After consultation with agency partners, Enterprise Services will not continue to pursue acquiring a telematics system at this time. We have cancelled the Request for Proposals (RFP) and suspended further procurements until such time as a more mature technology is commercially available.
Enterprise Services continues to seek out ways to provide useful fleet/business data, as well as improve driver safety and the state fleet’s carbon footprint (e.g., increasing availability of electric vehicles).
