Thank you for choosing DES training and development classes to meet your training needs! Public service employees in Washington state are eligible to register for classes as approved by their agency or organization. How you register for a class depends on your agency or organization type.
Agency employees can self-register for a class through the Washington State Learning Center. Learning Center platform User Guides & Resources can help learners navigate the Learning Center. If it is not clear that an agency allows self-registration, or if you have other questions, please check with the agency training manager or human resources team.
To register an External User for a class, please follow the steps on the Training Request Registration Form page.
External Users are employees of Washington State cities, counties, tribal entities, school districts, governmental subdivisions, federal government organizations, as well as Washington State registered Public Benefit nonprofits that are 501c(3) compliant and receiving public funding.

If the learner is unable to attend a class, they should contact the agency's training manager. Agencies will be billed for a registered learner unless cancellations are made on or before the cancel dates. Employers will be billed for no-shows for all DES classes. Please review the DES Attendance / Cancellation policy for more information.
Agencies may substitute learners any time before the start of the class. Please contact the agency training manager or email traininginfo@des.wa.gov if making a substitution.
If a learner arrives late to the class, the instructor will decide if the learner is able to receive completion credit for the class. Agencies are billed for incomplete classes at the full participant fee.
Employers will be billed approximately two weeks after the class is completed. For billing questions please contact traininginfo@des.wa.gov.
