In an effort to provide you the very best in training experiences, the DES Workforce Support Division is expanding our Learning Center platform to include external users.
Employees of Washington State cities, counties, tribal entities, school districts, governmental subdivisions, federal government organizations, and nonprofits that are 501 C (3) may access training courses as External Users.
First time External Users will submit a Training Request Registration Form and will receive a ‘welcome/onboarding’ email containing information on how to create a Single Access Washington (SAW) account, as well as additional how-to documents regarding Learning Center navigation. Returning users will then be able to search for upcoming training, and request registration directly through the Learning Center.
This inclusion will also allow all of our external customers to access the assessments and evaluations associated with each of our instructor-led courses; track their progress with downloadable transcripts and certificates of completion; as well as include access to the entire catalogue of self-paced, online content currently available only to state employees.

Agency employees can self-register for a class through the Washington State Learning Center. Learning Center platform User Guides & Resources can help learners navigate the Learning Center. If it is not clear that an agency allows self-registration, or if you have other questions, please check with the agency training manager or human resources team.
If the learner is unable to attend a class, they should contact the agency's training manager. Agencies will be billed for a registered learner unless cancellations are made on or before the cancel dates. Employers will be billed for no-shows for all DES classes. Please review the DES Attendance / Cancellation policy for more information.
Agencies may substitute learners any time before the start of the class. Please contact the agency training manager or email firstname.lastname@example.org if making a substitution.
If a learner arrives late to the class, the instructor will decide if the learner is able to receive completion credit for the class. Agencies are billed for incomplete classes at the full participant fee.
Employers will be billed approximately two weeks after the class is completed. For billing questions please contact email@example.com.
