State employees are responsible for any traffic citations they receive while operating a state vehicle.
- DES Fleet Operations receives an infraction notice (as the registered owner) in Olympia and opens an internal file for the incident.
- Fleet Operations attaches the citation to a notification email and sends it to the Agency Transportation Officer or vehicle coordinator/operator assigned to the vehicle.
- The agency receiving the notice will then begin their own internal procedures/investigation and notify the responsible driver in a timely manner.
- Once the citation has been resolved, the agency in charge of the responsible driver must notify DES Fleet Operations to close the file.
If the assigned operator was not the person driving at the time of the offense, please notify Fleet Operations at (360) 664-9215 or at firstname.lastname@example.org.
