Test drive an electric vehicle on the Capitol Campus Feb. 20
What?
Enterprise Services Fleet Operations will be hosting an electric vehicle “ride & drive” event, in partnership with Western Washington Clean Cities and Oregon’s Forth. This event will provide an opportunity for state workers to sit in, drive and learn about a variety of electric vehicles, including the Chevy Bolt and Volt, Ford Focus EV, BMW i3, Nissan Leaf, Kia Soul EV, Tesla 3, electric bicycles, motorcycles and more.
Who?
This event is open to all employees working on or visiting the Capitol Campus. Due to insurance coverage limitations, only employees of the state may test drive state-owned vehicles, but anyone is welcome to come over to look and learn. Please share this information with your agency staff.
When?
Tuesday, Feb. 20
10-11:30 a.m.

Where?
The North Diagonal on the Capitol Campus near the Tivoli Fountain.

Why?
This event supports several state initiatives designed to increase awareness and adoption of electric vehicle into state fleets:
- Gov. Jay Inslee Washington State Electric Fleets Initiative to accelerate adoption of electric vehicles (EVs) in public and private fleets.
- Results WA Goal 5 2.3
- RCW 43.19.648 requires state agencies (by June 1, 2015) and local governments (by June 1, 2018) to fuel publicly owned vehicles, vessels and construction equipment with electricity or biofuel, to the extent practicable.
