Scope & Impact: Due to unforeseen complications, DES is extending the partial closure of 12th Avenue Southwest on the West Capitol Campus through noon on Thursday, Aug. 3. For safety purposes, the Department of Enterprise Services will close part of 12th Avenue Southwest while using a large crane for work on the nearby Temple of Justice Building roof.

Where: Section of 12th Avenue Southwest between Cherry Lane Southwest and Pleasant Lane Southwest.

When: 6 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 2 through noon on Thursday, Aug. 3.

Why: DES will be using a large crane to install equipment for the heating, ventilating, and air-conditioning (HVAC) system on the roof of the Temple of Justice Building. This work is part of the ongoing Temple of Justice Systems Renewal project to address aging building systems.

All work is weather dependent. The Washington State Department of Enterprise Services has contracted with UMC of Mukilteo, Washington for this effort.
