Capitol Campus Update: Capital Lakefair to draw crowds

Capital Lakefair will bring an estimated 200,000 visitors to Heritage Park and the West Capitol Campus.

Event & Location: Capital Lakefair will bring an estimated 200,000 visitors to Heritage Park and the West Capitol Campus. Lakefair is an annual summer festival hosting food concessions, arts & crafts vendors, live entertainment, a car show, a parade, fireworks, and a carnival.

When: Wednesday, July 17 through Sunday, July 21

Road closures:

  • Water Street SW, on the east side of Heritage Park, will be closed July 13-22.
  • Deschutes Parkway SW will be closed from Lakeridge Drive SW to Fifth Avenue SW at the following times:
    • Friday, July 19, noon to 10 p.m.
    • Saturday, July 20, 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Other impacts: The West Capitol Campus during the Lakefair Parade (5 p.m. Saturday, July 20) and fireworks show (10 p.m. Sunday, July 21) will experience increased demand for parking, increased noise, and greater pedestrian and vehicle traffic.
