Where: Starting west of Heritage Park and continuing around the perimeter of Capitol Lake along Deschutes Parkway Southwest to the Interpretive Park Trail.
What's happening: As part of the Deschutes Estuary Restoration Project, DES is conducting a geotechnical survey of the land around Capitol Lake that will require drilling into the ground to collect samples.
Impact: Large machinery, trucks, and crews will be visible, and visitors can expect loud noise from the drilling. A portion of the pedestrian walking path will be closed, and pedestrians should follow the marked detour.
A few parking spots near the drilling locations will be temporarily closed during the work.
When: 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday, Jan. 15; 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 16 to Friday, Jan. 19.
All work is weather dependent. The Washington State Department of Enterprise Services has contracted with FLOYD | SNIDER of Seattle, Washington for this effort.
