Capitol Campus street closures March 28-30

The section of 11th Avenue between Capitol Way and Water Street on the west Capitol Campus will be closed from about 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on March 28-30 for work at the 1063 Block Replacement Project construction site.

This same area was closed on March 25 for a concrete pour at the construction site. That work went well but some additional closures are needed.

The same section of 11th Avenue will be closed in both directions on March 28 to complete the concrete work started earlier. Barricades will be placed at both ends of the road closure and flaggers will be on site to help manage traffic. The concrete pour is weather dependent: It can’t be done in a heavy rain.

This closure will require a temporary change to the route used by the Dash shuttle. Go to the Intercity Transit webpage for more information.

It will also require the closure of the left-hand turn lane on northbound Capitol Way at the intersection with 11th Avenue. And the sidewalk crossing at 11th Avenue and Columbia Street, near the GA Building, will be closed.

March 29-30 closure

The westbound lane of 11th Avenue, the one next to the construction site, will be closed from about 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on March 29 and 30 for the delivery of construction materials to the south side of the work site.

The eastbound lane of 11th Avenue will remain open. Flaggers will be in place those days to safely route traffic around the lane closure. Traffic delays will be brief.

A camera mounted on the roof of the General Administration Building is pointed at the work site allowing viewers to watch the progress of the construction on the project website. The camera image is refreshed every 15 minutes.
