Noise, traffic related to construction to increase beginning this week

Construction-related noise and traffic will increase beginning Wednesday, Aug. 14, on the East Plaza of the Capitol Campus near the Maple Park entrance of the Plaza Garage.

Trucks will be hauling materials to the lay down area west of the garage entrance every 30 minutes. The work is scheduled to take place over the next two weeks.

Flaggers will be on site to direct traffic. Parkers who use the Maple Park entrance to the garage can access alternative entrances to avoid delays. Visitors can park at the Jefferson and Maple Park Visitor Lot.

Trucks will be hauling landscaping soil and drainage gravel to a conveyor positioned at the lay down area. The conveyor will transport the landscaping materials from the ground level up to the East Plaza and to additional conveyors that will deliver the gravel and soil to different areas of the Plaza near the Department of Transportation and Employment Security buildings.
