Governor's proposed budgets released
On Dec. 17, Governor Inslee released his proposed 2025 Supplemental and 2025-27 Biennial Budget. Next, the Legislature will consider and change these budget proposals during the upcoming legislative session, which begins Monday, Jan. 13.
The state's budget is not final until both the House and Senate pass the final budget, sometimes known as the compromise budget, and it's enacted by the governor in the spring. In a "long" session, the House and Senate usually release the proposed biennium budgets towards the end of March.
