Dependable Strengths & Team Building
Imagine a team where everyone understands their own strengths as well as the strengths of each team member. Individuals feels more confident, self-aware, and productive when focusing on strengths rather than weaknesses. In turn, this leads to higher employee engagement, increased performance, and significantly lower attrition rates.
The goal of this course is to have participants experience the process of team building based on the concept of Dependable Strengths®. You can expect to uncover the strengths of what you do uniquely well and enjoy doing. This may confirm what you already know about yourself or reveal hidden strength. You will gain a better understanding of how to apply your strengths within a work team.
This is an experiential course with brief lectures, individual work, paired work, and small and large group activities. Participants will use knowledge of their strengths to form a "Partnership of Excellence" which is a strength-based approach to team building. The process is based on an individual narrative of personal experiences rather than a formal assessment, which allows participants to own and articulate the strengths they are most motivated to use. This process aligns with Career Construction Theories and Strength-Based approaches to career development and management.
Participants are encouraged to bring all intersecting identities to this workshop (work, faith, gender identity, race, culture, family system, different abilities etc.).
