Report a Business that Does Not Meet Requirement

How to report a business that does not meet the requirements as a small business, minibusiness, or microbusiness.

Requirements

As a part of the WEBS system, we identify small and diverse-owned businesses. Business can be identified as a small, minibusiness, or microbusiness through certification or self-reporting.

Below are the requirements to be classified as a small business, minibusiness, or microbusiness according to RCW 39.26.010.

Small business

To be classified as a small business, the business must have its main location in Washington state and meet one of the following:

  • 50 or fewer employees
  • Gross annual revenue less than $7,000,000 (as reported on its federal income tax return or its return filed with the Department of Revenue over the previous three consecutive years).
  • Certified with the Office of Women and Minority Business Enterprises.

Minibusiness

To be classified as a minibusiness, the business must:

  • Be owned and operated independently from any other businesses.
  • Have a gross annual revenue of at least $1,000,000 but less than $3,000,000 (as reported on its federal tax return or on its return filed with the Department of Revenue).

Microbusiness

To be classified as a microbusiness, the business must:

  • Be owned and operated independently from all other businesses.
  • Have a gross annual revenue of less than $1,000,000 (as reported on its federal tax return or on its return filed with the Department of Revenue).

How to report a business that does not meet requirement
