Interpersonal Conflict Resolution

Course Code: 01-03-E00T

This course dives into the complexities of interpersonal conflict and equips participants with strategies to effectively identify underlying issues, prioritize their significance in terms of overall organizational goals, and finally facilitate resolutions. Participants will have a better understanding on how to tackle challenging conflicts moving forward.

This course will equip you with the skills to navigate a range of conflict resolution methods, from one-to-one conversation to mediation and arbitration. Through thoughtful assessment, discover your own unique style for handling disputes – such as whether it is more constructive or destructive in nature - then work out how this approach interacts with other styles present in any given situation. You'll also be able understand when internal pressures are driving a perceived issue and gain an insight into why people behave differently under stress.

Competencies Covered:

  • Uncover the root causes of conflicts and devise ways to address them.
  • Develop and use a systematic, organized approach for managing conflicts.
  • Understand and apply a model for assessing conflict and choosing the appropriate conflict resolution method.
  • Explain the various techniques for resolving conflicts, including one-to-one conversations, negotiation, arbitration, mediation, and litigation.
