The Importance of Self Care

Self-care is becoming a more common concept. We are recognizing its impact not only on our personal lives, but we also see it in our work lives as well. Today, we are asked or expected to do more with less. This can lead to stress, feeling overwhelmed, frustration and low energy. As such, work productivity and the workplace environment are affected. As a result, we see increased peer conflicts, low morale, and lack of drive.

A major prevention and remedy concept is self-care. In this training, you’ll discover what self-care is, it’s positive impact and what happens when we neglect it. You’ll learn common roadblocks to taking better care of yourself. We’ll discuss ways to move through those roadblocks and you’ll create a plan. You’ll discover your own personal hurdles and how to overcome them. These hurdles include unrealistic expectations and societal norms.

Performance Objectives: Upon completion of this course, you should be able to:

  • Obtain a better understanding of what self-care is.
  • Learn benefits of self-care, both personally and professionally.
  • Identify and avoid your own self-care roadblocks.
  • Discover the real reasons you don’t take better care of yourself.
  • Implement effective strategies that work.
