Performance Accountability: How to Measure Outcomes

A key element of performance management and accountability is the ability to measure the degree to which outcomes are achieved. Many times it is believed that some outcomes are not measurable. In most cases the outcome has not been identified. In this class you will learn how to identify an outcome and the best way to measure the success of that outcome.

Performance objectives: Upon completion of this course, you should be able to:

  • Define a work outcome
  • Identify the difference between a work outcome and a work activity
  • Demonstrate an ability to select the best methods of measuring outcomes
  • Describe a strategy for involving employees in identifying outcomes and outcome measures.
