Art of Delivering Positive Feedback

Course Code: 01-09-M581

Effective feedback is essential in any team setting. Whether you're giving or receiving it, there's a right way to handle feedback, but in many work environments, it is often associated with negative experiences. This leads to defensiveness, which hinders the overall goal of the feedback process. This workshop teaches you how to give feedback that's both effective and respectful by focusing on not only "what to say" but also "how to say it.”

Performance Objectives: Upon completion of this course, you should be able to:

  • Effectively prepare for and deliver positive and constructive feedback.
  • Prevent or minimize defensiveness in a feedback situation.
  • Receive feedback without getting defensive.
  • Manage your mindset and potential defensiveness both before and while delivering feedback.
  • Empathize with others while giving feedback.

Intended Audience: Managers, supervisors, and anyone who gives feedback as a part of their job.
