First Aid, CPR, AED - Re-certification
CPR
Re-certification is an overview for students who have had the basic First Aid, CPR, AED training within a year of their certification expiration date. The class is
taught at a rapid pace with no floor exercises but covers the entire CPR class
curriculum with videos and lectures. CPR procedures are still covered in full
detail as well as AED use. NOTE: The instructor will provide First Aid/CPR
cards that are effective for two years from the date of issue to those
participants who successfully complete the course.
NOTE: This is a re-certification course, and is intended only for those who have completed the basic 8hr course within the past three (3) years. If a learner's 2yr certification card has been expired for more than a year, they must re-take the 8hr course.
Performance Objectives: Upon completion of this course students should be able to:
- Know how to approach an emergency safely
- Know the laws that apply to lay, responders
- Know CPR procedures
- Know the principles of First Aid
Competencies Covered:
CPR procedures, First Aid Procedures, assessments of the injured, AED use, bleeding control, and legal principles for lay responders.
Intended Audience: Employees who are required to have a Basic First Aid card as stated in WAC 296-800-150.
