Navigating performance management issues in the public sector requires a clear understanding of Just Cause principles. This course is designed to provide Human Resource professionals and management with the tools needed to ensure corrective and/or disciplinary actions are properly and legally administered in a Just Cause world.

Performance Objectives: Upon completion of this course, learners will be able to:

  • Know the Just Cause principles and be able to properly apply them in performance management.
  • Sharpen documentation skills, and set expectations based on policies and rules.
  • Effectively plan and participate in performance management meetings with employees (and third parties); and
  • Handle performance issues with an eye toward positive communication and improving employee performance.
