Virtual Meeting Facilitation Basics

Course Code: 2333

This course covers the basics of virtual meeting facilitation for leaders, managers, and anyone who facilitates virtual meetings. We will focus on how to actively engage meeting participants using Zoom. Microsoft Teams modules can also be made available.

This course is modeled after the Kolb learning cycle approach, where you have a concrete experience, reflect on what you observed, conceptualize the learning into your current work, and then practice active experimentation with others. This technique is highly interactive. You will apply class concepts to an upcoming meeting in which you plan to convene.

Performance Objectives: Upon completion of this course, you should be able to:

  • Demonstrate an understanding of best practices for virtual meeting facilitation.
  • Increase collaboration and meeting effectiveness in online platforms.
  • Identify the basic meeting types and group facilitation techniques for effective meetings.
  • Demonstrative user proficiency in basic Zoom and Microsoft Teams features.
  • Develop a facilitation plan for an upcoming meeting.

Intended Audience: Leaders, managers, supervisors, and anyone who facilitates virtual meetings.
